Does the computer systems in the 2017 recognize the CAN Bus LEDs or do I need just the regular LEDs if I am changing them all?

Are you talking about replacing incandescent bulbs with LED replacements? If so I can tell you how it went with my 18.
I replaced both the front and rear directional bulbs and back ups with LEDs without problems. I replaced both rears first and did not get the fast indication but when I added the fronts I did get the "hyperflash" indication. The actual flash pattern is normal only the clicker you hear clicks faster. The flasher is electronic and is telling you that a bulb is out. I did not add load resistors to fool the flasher. No codes or errors indicated on the dash but there may be something in the OBD saying lamps out. All the lights are noticeably brighter and I like it.

If this isn't what you asked .........Never Mind.

There are two different types of LEDs one is the normal LED and the other is CAN Bus which tells the computer in the vehicle which one is out I guess. Anyway. For the last 3 vehicles as soon as I get them I always have to tweak them and so I usually start out by changing each and every bulb I can for LEDs. I even did that with my Goldwing years ago. At least when the weather gets better I will have all the parts I need to work on the PIU. So far I have over $1K in parts waiting to be put on! Sure glad the better half doesn't know! LOL Kinda like fishing equipment. She says, "Where did THAT come from?" I say, Oh! That old thing has been in the garage (or basement) and I just haven't used it! My bad!

I do the same with my ham radios. Luckily they all look the same.

Now back on topic.
I have some understanding of the electronics and I think the CANBUS leds are just led's with a load resistor built in. I don't see how a led lamp can talk to the canbus and say "I'm not an LED" Seems to me it's marketing.

With FORScan, the lamp outage detection can be turned off in the BCM when swapping to LEDs. This solves any hyper-flash/click issues. I've been running LEDs since 2016 in my Explorer. I don't recommend load resistors since they can get hot.
