Im getting new tires soon and I want to have one of my old ones mounted as a spare. I am wondering if a 32" tire will fit in the stock spare location on a 93 xlt. I did a search and got mixed results on different years and what not so I am wondering if anyone knows on a first gen

I did on a first gen. It sorta fit. It didn't go tight into the spare tire "hole" but it worked. If you have a receiver hitch though, it won't at all.

I dont have a hitch or anything like that to limit the room

I have a worn 32 under mine. it kinda sticks down far though

can you post a pic of how far down it is? Im debating whether to pay to have it mounted or not

I agree with stic-o. It will stick pretty far down. Mine had about 50% tread on the spare too.

Mine didn't fit at all, so I have it in the hatch.

You could put a safari rack on the roof and put it into that. That's what I had originally did although I discovered my 1st gen became more top heavy like that and I didn't like that and that's why I put mine into the spare tire hole.

Just adding my $0.02.. If you put the spare in the hatch you should still tie it down with decent straps. If someone was to slam into you the spare tire would be a lethal weapon flying around the cabin...

I'll try to find a picture. But it looks low anyway because of the body lift. I' don't like it under there, but I refuse to put it on the roof  and inside it takes up to much space. I plan to put a new bumper w/ a carrier on the back. ;)
