i currently have a ford premium sound head running clarion replacment speakers in the doors & a lanzar e802 360wt 2channel amp that runs a lanzar 12" single kicker in the rear. i also have a dual 12" box w/ tweets that i want to run in full mode, to do this i bought a pyramid 808 300wt 10band eq. when the lanzar amp was installed they used an 8 gauge fused link power line to hook it up, my question is can i jump off that power source for the new eq or should i run a second power line from the battery?
it's :hammer: time

instead of running a second power wire frm the battery:
get a 4 guage power wire from the battery and run it to a distribution block. then run two 8 guage power wires from the block to each amp.

sounds like a plan - just out of curiosity, could i just hook a dist. box on the existing #8 wire?

that's not a good idea. the current will run too high to safely use 8ga. to power both. your better off just buying some 4ga.
it should cost around $0.75 a foot.

Leejan is right on here man. if you run that much power through a 8 guage you will either burn up your amps or burn up your truck as in fire. the power wire will get soo hot it will melt its insulation. From my experience if you take a little extra time and wire it up right you will have a much better experience and not have to fix stuff/ replace stuff. Case in point I have a 4 year old pair of JBL 12 subs running in my ex's jeep and they still pound like new. I attribute it to sticking to specs and good wiring.
