cut your port and invert the sub. ie: mount it facing in and the basket hanging out. that will increase your interior volume.

No, no photos. Surprising since I am a photographer. Anyway, my system with 4 10" JL's isn't in an explorer...

We just slipped one 10" under the rear seat of the explorer (my wife's car). It filled out the bottom end quite a bit, but didn't make it into a boomin' system that could be heard down the block.

We had a lot of explorers come in to fit 3 and 4 subs in the back when I used to sell car audio. The most popular box was like the one some guy is selling in the for sale section. It fit's behind the rear seat and faces backward.

Oh wait. You said you didn't have an explorer either. It was a truck, right?!? A bandpass will be hard to fit behind a single cab seat. Is it a mini-truck or full-size?

And remember, the quality of the amp is just as important as the box. The woofer is almost the least important part. A good and a well-designed box can make the most of an average woofer. But a crappy amp and slapped-together box will make a really good woofer sound horrible...
