Hey there, My ac doesnt work and I dont really use it in cars that it does work in, so since im going to be doing alot of replacing stuff in the engine compartment a little extra room would be great! MY question is can I remove the AC system without interfering with other systems and how would you recommend doing that? I believe it is no longer pressurized.

-Thanks

You can remove the compressor and replace it with a bracket that only has a pulley on it so you can use the same size belt without compromising any other components. Or and I'm not to sure if this is possible but just getting a different size belt maybe one for the same year and just bypass the compressor so that all the a/c parts can be removed. I am sure someone that has done either one of these may chime in and have more info on what exactly is involved I just saw the pulley bracket when I was looking in a catalog for a/c parts for my truck. Good LUCK!

Yes, you can remove the A/C compressor, lines, evaporator, condenser, and everything else. You can replace the heater/blower box with one from a Ranger with no A/C and get a lot more room under the hood on the passenger side.

You can remove the compressor and replace it with a bypass pulley bracket, but it's a lot easier (not to mention less expensive) to just use the smaller, shorter, non-A/C belt.

Shameless plug - I just happen to be selling an A/C and non-A/C belt as well:
