Just wondering if this can happen....found a bulb I was interested in that put out 4100K light...and it's quite cheap...just wondering if 80W would burn up my harness

The fog lamp wiring is no bigger than 18, and the pins on the bulb are tiny. I just don't see how.

not sure about the fog lights, but I've heard that if you buy the 80/100 watt headlight bulbs, you should never turn your brights on because you would definitely burn your harness. You might be okay with that wattage, but it is pushing it.

One eighty-watt bulb will draw approx. 7 amps @ 12V; two will draw 14 amps.
15 amp requires minimum 14 gauge wire to run safely (built in safety factor).

So, if you have 14-gauge wire running to your lights then go for it if not check your insurance for fire damage.

I tend to run more wire diameter than required, just to be safe and to make sure that they are burning at full brightness. My 150 watters in the front have 10 gauge wire to each light running back to a terminal block; this block is connected to the battery by fused 6-gauge wire.
Yes it is an over kill but as stated before it works, safely and brightly.

Good Luck,
Do it right the first time!
