you have the TB off? And just how does one go about cleaning the throttle body?

The TPS is an electric sensor.
I do not suggest cleaning it

remove the throttle body, spray it with throttle body cleaner and wipe it clean, make sure you open the butterfly valve and get all the grime off. remove the vacuum lines, throttle cable, and TPS before you get it wet (so remove it from the truck)

They suggest not cleaning the throttle body, it says right on it from the factory it is equipped with a special coating, do not clean, I have ignored that sticker for years, mine are clean....
I have used Superclean, brake clean, throttle body and intake cleaner, heck soap and water will work too

Thanks

I wondered about cleaning it since it was suggested to clean the MAF and I thought it was also electric.....but I wasn't sure...I've been waiting til I could find that out.

the TPS is not a sensor or a valve like the IAC or MAS, it is a little dial driven by the butterfly valve which opens and closes with the throttle cable, all electric, nothing to clean and it doesnt like moisture

Thank you for clarifying that

I had wondered the difference but hadn't asked....would it hurt to use a can of compressed air to dust it off so to speak?
