2001 with only 2500miles is amazing - i'd check carfax for OD tamper or for a state title transfer that washes titles ie: ohio/arizona?

wow my 2002 I bought had 88000 miles..
that is amazing for4 years old..
carfax like TSTONE said.

The "P' means that it's a V8. An "E" is the SOHC V6.
Do be wary about extremely low mileage vehicles. Most repaired wrecks have very low mileage. Good luck,
DonW

Im sure you know this but Carfax is a great source. We've used it on every vehicle we have bought, and it seems to be true. I dont think it is very expensive either.

It very well could have been an old persons car or someone who just drives back and forth to work and thats about it.

Good luck

I will send you a report from autocheck same thing as carfax. Good luck.

I can tell you that it was the 85681'th Explorer made that year. :D

Edit by Robb: Sorry, no Carfax info can be given out on EF.

Damn.. 2,500 miles is GREAT. My grandma has a 2000 Trans Am (bought new) with around that mileage. Definitely run a Carfax, though many times they don't catch accidents and all that stuff. Worth a try.

I've heard of many accounts of carfax not catching accidents, I think all its good for is telling you the previous titles and such. Maybe mileage, good luck.
