car has developed creaking noise

Its not a rattle, and its not constant.

Whenever I come to a stop or start again, I hear a creaking noise that seems like it is coming from the rear drivers side door or the b pillar, but I can't isolate it while driving.

Anyone else experience anything like this?

Its only started within the last few days.

Our 2011 just developed this same creaking in the rear suspension. Anytime you hit a little bump or even getting in and out of the car. Still haven't figured it out

If it happens when you get in or out of the vehicle it is likely suspension related. Could be the shock or spring mounts. Can you reproduce it by rocking the Explorer? Sounds like it shouldn't be too difficult to track down.
