Well I got one for free and am trying to decide if i can make it fit. Maybe 3 inch body lift? Anyone done this yet? I am thinking a c4 trans behind it. Fabrication and welding are not a problem.

im still dreaming of one so keep posting on how you make out. if you attemp it.

If you have 4WD you will probably want to do some sort of lift to give room underneath. C4 is fine if you dont want or need overdrive. Isn't a C4 the one with no od?
Sounds like a fun project...look in the conversions forum here too, and on the rangerstation website.

yeah a c4 doesnt have od.

Defintely keep us posted. That's exactly what I want to do to my x.

OK I will be buiulding up the motor for a while. Dont want to rush it because I want a ton of things done before it goes in. I am going to give it a shot though.

If you do it, I'm coming to see it :D

Where is spring church PA? I will be dragging the motor to work next week to start building it up. If you are near by you are more than welcome to come a few times.

Check out Cheif34's build up. He's installing a FI 302 and T-5, but the idea is the same. Advance Adapters has the kit for you. The 3" body lift is almost a requirement. Once you get the adapter for the transfer case, the rest is easy. You'll need to weld in motor mounts, have new driveshafts made (maybe), and a wiring harness but that'll be easy since you are going with a carb. Might either need a low profile air filter or a cowl induction hood.

Yeah I have been watching chief's thread. Good stuff. Hmm, a manual may be nice in there, something to ponder

Check state laws on emissions before you start, if you want it to be street legal. Make sure it will pass, since you'll have to get v6 FI emissions from a carbed V8..

I'm about an hour east of Pittsburgh. But I have family in King of Prussia.
