I was just thinking, I am very sick of computer codes and can I run this part that part with the computer and such. Here is the question.. Can I run a carburetor On my 5.0 with the GT 40 heads with out many switch over issues. maybe just a new intake and a distributor with an MSD ignition coil? Was just wondering about the pros and cons and the how too's. Any thoughts?

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?? Bueller?

you would have to get a different transmission, the 4r70w wont work without some of the sensors you would have to remove. even if you are willing to replace the trans, there will be issues with the distributor, im not sure if your camshaft has the right drive gear for the distrubutor setup. best bet to complete this swap would be to find an older wrecked bronco or f-150 and swap the engine, trans, and transfer case. My personal reccomendation is to fix the one you have, as it will most likely be cheaper, and you will get way less fuel economy with a carb'd setup, especially considering most of your trans options are only 3spds

Thanks for the info. I did not think about some of the other complications you listed..ie the tranny and such. I guess I could stick with the computer and pay that guy on the site, whats his name? Sorry! He does all the computer upgrades, to adjust it for the prolly 32 lb injectors and maybe a new larger TB.
