I think so. However I think the roller camshaft is made of a harder material and you might need a special distributor drive gear. The heads will match up to a fel pro 1250 intake gasket from what I recall.

I'm investigating installing a coal furnace and a steam boiler in the back of my Exp.

Seriously, I once saw a guy fit a distributor to a Suzuki 1300 DOHC when it never had one before.
He made a bracket up and ran a belt drive to it just like an alternator.

going bac to the carburetor

alright I have made my decision I'm going to delete the computer fuel injection all of the above I'm going to run a distributor in a 4 barrel carburetor and an inline fuel pump now my next question is the transmission am I gonna have any trouble with thatis the shifting done electronically in this orshould I be OK on that I'm not worried about all the other electronics climate control stereosand all that other stuff I just want to get the vehicle so I can drive it and it will go forward and backwardsand I'm not to not worried about a emissions air conditioning and all that other stuff this is the only way I can see to get rid of pats is to go back the old school way.

Yes, the transmission is also computer controlled. Electric solenoids and what not inside. It has a range sensor which tells the PCM which gear you have selected. I see no mechanical work around.

You can get a stand alone transmission controller, but what you are doing will cost more than fixing the PATS I reckon. You might get AAA and use it for a free tow to the dealer-;)
