carrier break for gear changes?

I need to know if the same carrier can be used for 3.55 gears and 4.10 gears.

Also, does the '91 Explorer have the same rear axle spline count as a '90 fullsize Bronco? I want to swap the carrier out of the Bronco into the Explorer.
