I hooked my Premier deck up, but I did it in a hurry and I used the adapter plug kit that are universal for Ford and Mazda. My rear controls don't work, and I'm happy that the kids can't mess with the radio anymore. Maybe if I would have taken the time to locate the wire that feeds those. I'm not sure if it would work. Sorry, I'm not much help but I can tell you how it won't work! I never liked that control bach there cause I don't like the kids messin with my radio.
I guess it's great if you're camping in your Ex.

i dont have kids and if you press 3 and 5 at the same time on the factory cd player it turns the controls off but just nice if people are riding in the back and would rather listen to the radio or something so everyone is happy and i have the cd player/cassette and i dont use cassette but nice to have i guss bc u can use the adapter and use a ipod or something but right now my subs are only hooked up bc i have a adapter that plugs into a headphone jack and goes to a rca which goes to my amp and i control the volume of my subs through my rear audio controls so that is neat.

Maybe if I would have taken the time to locate the wire that feeds those and hooked it to the remote wire (blue).

Oh no! that wire is a 12v signal that you hook to your amp to turn it on with your stereo, has nothing to do with the rear/steering wheel controls

You can get a hi-lo converter and hook it up to your speaker wires, that will give you rca's to hook your amps
