CD Title/Songs Not Recognized?

So it being Xmas and all, my wife got me Seal's Soul 2 CD. Great CD if you like soul, as a reprise of great classics.

Anyway .... MFT doesn't recognize the CD, or what songs it is playing? I thought perhaps it downloaded that information, but wasn't sure, and was surprised it wouldn't be on the CD itself? Can anyone tell me where MFT obtains CD and track information, etc?

Does it come off the CD itself, or from the internet (ie. Gracenote)? Maybe CD just isn't on internet?

I think it only looks up album art with the Gracenote feature for MP3 files on iPods and such, not CDs as far as I have sen in my 2012 LTD.

I don't hook to the internet at this point (was thinking since phone was hooked up with Bluetooth it had internet - wrong!), but its is sort of strange that a CD wouldn't display.
