About a week or so ago, I stopped and got gas on my way to work. On the way home, my CEL went on (not blinking). Read the manual and said to fill tank, etc. Did that, still came on. A friend of ours checked to see what code it was throwing. It was a 17 # - not sure what one, then he reset the computer to turn off the CEL light. Done. Never comes on again. However....

Later that night, the O/D light starts to blink. Turn off engine, restart, no light. It doesn't come on all the time, just once in a while. But, now I have like a slipping between gears. When I am at a stop, light turns green, I accelerate, rpm's go to about 3.3 and hang for a second or two (engine revs a little), then shifts and it feels ok. But - it doesn't always do that either. It's weird. I have an appointment on Friday (today's Monday) at the dealer to have the (cruise control) recall taken care of. Could it all be related to the recall?

Should I go ahead and reset the computer before the appointment?

I would not clear the code, if for some reason it does not act up for the mechanic he wont have any info to be able to verify what the problem is or why its messing up.

Code after gas fillup is usually caused by not turning the gas cap all the way, or filling up with the engine running.

There is an issue with the tranny regarding slipping between the 2-3 shift. Has to do with loose valve bodies in the tranny, among other things. Search for 2-3 shift and you should find several threads about the issue.
