Center Axle Disconnect ??

I'm having a problem with this vacuum disconnect as well....transfer case shifts fine but no power is being applied to the front wheels.

position sensor then :)

I was talking with a Jeep buddy of mine and he mentioned with the axle shaft disconnects you are to back up 15 feet straigt after shifting out of 4x4

I wonder if the same is true of our Ford system?

Nope. It's a sliding collar. Once the t-case is disconnected, there is no binding in the front drivetrain and it'll unlock easily. The 97-03 F-150/1st gen Expedition/Navigators had the same (but supersized) setup. It takes very little pressure to move the actuator as long as it's not rusty or gummy. As I've mentioned before, a manual push-pull cable or an adapted 4x4posi-lok unit would probably work well.

gijoecam Thanks for your help, by posting the information that you have.

I have to find the shop manual for this vehicle, a seller on ebay has a copy of the factory CD for $10.

I see Helm is real proud of their copies, WOW

Can you not just by pass this cap one vac line and run one directly to the diff and leave it as a live axel?
