Well, first of all, thanks for reading me, and second, i´ve tried different searchs in the forum, and found nothing. Theres a lot about 3rd gens problem s with the plastic part of the hatch, and 2nds water leaks.

But my situation is this: my rear glass is slightly to the left, and that has caused a linear wear in the paint in the frame area of the hatch, but it really happened slowly, cause it only rubs when getting into big potholes and stuff. If i look at it carefully the misallignment it´s noticeable. I´m also worried that it might brake ´cause of the vibrations against the metal.

My question is: Do i only need some torx wrenches to loosen up the hinge and strut connections from the inside of the glass, and align it and tight them up??? Is the glass prone to destruction if i attempt this fix??? Should i take it to a body shop to avoid any other problems??? are there any steps that should be followed?? should it be done with the hatch closed or slightly opened or what?? I´ll appreciate any advice on this!!!!... thanks!

Those TORX screws are prone to seizing due to rust. Spray some PB Blaster or WD40 (if that's all you can find) on the screws for a couple days before you attempt this.

Good Luck

all you need to do is just loosen the TORX screws do not remove them completly or the glass will fall. once you have them lossend you should be able to move the glass around to allign it properly. Then simply tighten them back up. You only have to lossen the 2 TORX screws that are connected to the top of the hatch then to the glass.

If you move the glass, you'll also need to move the latch as well.

dependinding on how out of line it is, yes. If it's only a little tilted to one side or something he won't have to move the latch.

Oh! That's right... the little arm on the glass that catches in the latch runs horizontally, not vertically.... Too early in the morning, I guess!!
