Change digital display...Mountainner

I recently bought a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer. I'm trying to figure out how to change the display to show me ?? miles till empty instead of the ?? gallons to empty. It's frustrating trying to figure out gallons and miles. My Mountaineer didn't come with any kind of owner's manual. I tried looking up the answer online but wasn't sure how to word it correctly.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

i think the RANGE button will change the display to MILES TO EMPTY. i think it's the 3rd button from the left. once you get down to 50 miles worth of fuel left it will say LOW FUEL, but RESET will return it to MILES TO EMPTY.

some of the buttons will show you different information if you press them a second time. you can also do things like change the percentage of 7500 miles between oil changes if you want. i suggest you find an owner's manual on ebay. there's a bunch of stuff you'll never figure out w/out the manual (like the things you can do with the key-pad, or how to program remotes).

The 2 left most buttons on the message center are dual function buttons, and will show 2 different read outs when you push it.
