I'm going to do a full tranny fluid flush soon and maybe install a remote filter also. Should I change the stock filter too, or just leave it sit? Seems like pain and I don't want to take the time unless its absolutely necessary.

Its a whole lot easier & cheaper to change the filter than the trannie. If it has not been changed in the last 20,000 miles or so I would deffinetly change it.

I too would highly recommend changing the stock filter. Why not start using your remote with a clean filter inside the tranny?

Please post info about your remote install.

Good luck......

I second changing the tranny filter when you do the remote install. I started by flushing some cheap atf through the system, changed the tranny filter and added a remote filter and then swapped 12 quarts of Mobil 1 into it. I then changed the remote filter at around 500 miles just to feel better. These %#*$& A4LD trannys seem to be like a hand grenade with the pin pulled, you just don't know what the time delay will be.
