Of course there is. If memory serves me, the Sport Trac's frame is about 14 inches longer. I believe the wheelbase of a 4 door Explorer is 113 inches and the wheelbase of the Sport Tracs is 126 inches.
I imagine the frames are identical at least to the beginning of the rear doors.
Yes, pretty much the same wheelbase. But, I believe the Ranger frame gets more narrow at the rear.
Look at the differences of how the leaf springs connect to the frame. The Ranger has spring hangers mounted to the outside of the frame and the spring mounts on top of the axle. On the Sport Trac the spring connects directly in line with the frame and is mounted underneath the axle.
