Ppl are such A-holes sometimes! You have to spend money to keep the low-lifes from stealing the money you already spent.
Stock alarm, insurance covered 70% of it. Sorry I can't help you out Dom, I personally wouldn't skimp out on an alarm system. Good luck and let us know how it works afterwards. Oh and I had a stereo shop install my alarm, they did a pretty good job.
Um, I hope you're referring to the images posted before.
And, I'm on the verge of giving up on this install and paying someone to do it..
Anyone know a good place in the Toronto area?![]()
Shops do not like the "did half myself" jobs. They either refuse it or charge you for a full install because they do not trust anyone wiring besides their's for insurance and warranty purpose and will yanked off what you did and redo it from scratch. I did my 97 EX real quick because the power locks only required a couple of wires, not the reverse polarity one. And out of the 8 wires for remote start only 4 were connected and the alarm section only 2 wires were connected factory disarm and dome light for instant trigger. I did it by following one of the members here had to do a search since it was a while ago. I stopped going to shops since a local Greensboro so called alarm/radio shop installed their alarm system on my 1990 Bronco and fried it up back in 91. I never trust a shop again since and feel comfortable doing my own, if I screw it up it my fault. I'm trying to post some pics to help you out but forgot how. Lol
UPDATE:
I got mad with all the pricing to install it ($100+), so I just did it myself..
After many headaches and freezing my butt off, I have successfully installed the alarm.
Everything works and I'm proud of my job!
And, to everyone who said I should've bought a better alarm, ha..
This alarm is great. I was testing it, and it does everything I need. Keyless Entry, full alarm w/ door and shock sensors.
I don't want a starter, and I didn't want anything fancy.
For the price, it's great!
Good job on the instal! Thats not an easy task for a first timer. And as long as you are happy with it thats all that matters. Money talks! - So does the little red blinking light on the dash![]()
Little blue led*
Boy is that LED bright..
BUT, now I'm having a problem.
The door trigger is the dome light, but when I press lock, the light turns on so it triggers the alarm.
Any way to change the timer on the dome light?
mmmmm... I dont know. The alarms im familiar with will bypass the input until it goes away then starts watching it again. Gonna have to wait for someone more tallented than me to come along.
Hi gyus! I need your advice too! I've recently replaced my car alarm becuse it started to work in a really starnge way. It just refused to work near my house, I can't lock or unlock the car. And it starts working when I'm about 50 feet far from the house. I suspect that someone among my neighbors uses car alarm jammer. Any ideas on how can I found out who does that exactly?
Well in all honesty, this is more humerous than anything BUT it makes complete sense

Yeah, I've seen that. I just don't know how much my neighbors would like me if that went off at 3 am.. I think a regular siren is bad enough.
