There re tread tires but ive heard of alot of poeple that love them they also come with a 2 year 20.000 warranty, Im getting the Guard Dogs

Is that a 20 dollar warranty?

The M/T are pretty tough looking, But the over all tire diameter for the 285/75r16 are slightly larger then normal 285's. 33.2” so keep that in mind

appearance is almost all in the way the sidewall looks. i know when i used to run MTs on my truck they just roared down the highway but ATs run alot quieter with (atleast i think) better gas milage (of course, depending on the tire). i know the AT made by datona has a pretty nice sidewall on it and is pretty cheap. also had a good waranty. but hey - what you found is interesting. not many companies offer warranties on MTs

Thats a very good point renegade1, Plus M/T's dont last very long running on the highway either. Ill have to check them Datona A/T'S out.

hey man thanks for the site ive been curious how much those treads cost

tires look good. but that sidewall on all those tires look weak.

If you want to compare the tires to their name brand equivalent-

Backbone MT - Dunlop Radial Mud Rovers

Guard Dog MT - Goodyear Wrangler MT/R

Warden AT - BFGoodrich AT

SENTINEL AT - Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo?

That's all that I could recognize. Hope that helps.

does anyone know anything about retreaded tires.
are they safe??
New tread on old used tires????

a.k.a. "Re-Caps"

We use to have them on the drive axles of some of our tri-axle dumptrucks and semi's. It's important that the people that do the re-capping know exactly what they are doing and using the correct procedure. They can be unsafe because the tread could come apart for the casing. We would never run them on steer (front) axles. If they ever did come apart, you wouldn't want them steering. We'd found out (usually the hard way) what companys did good quality re-caps. I personaly won't run them on a passenger vehicle. The higher the wheel speed and demanding conditions meant a higher risk of them failing. Strictly off-road maybe, but I'm not sure the how durable they'd be. I would have a list of pros and cons with multiple cons, but one significant pro... $price$.

maybe this is just my opinion, but this seems like a scam...

or if not a scam then just poor quality tires...

just my thoughts

I've done some more research on these and most poeple only use there for off road. The guard dogs are xtremely load on pavement, helicopter chop

If someone is that darn broke, they shouldn't be enaging in these purchases anyway, just my opinion.

For a few bucks more, a person can have one heck of a good tire. I got my Nittos for $550 mounted and balanced.

What Nittos do you have ?

I have the Terra Grapplers.

Ohh ok, Yea those are some good tires. Im going with the Nankang Mudstar Radial M/T's mounted on Unique 297 black wheels, I can get the whole package for $1,000. I think thats my best bet anyway. Getting them from Discount tire in St.Lois Michigan

Those Treadwrights are actually very good tires. One of the guys on here that I wheel with, Yellowford, has a set of the MTR looking ones on his rig and they have held up great, under some pretty severe abuse. The only real downside to them as far as I can see is that they don't have anything bigger than a 33. :(
