Check Charging System flashes at over 4000 rpm

2005 explorer 4.0 l v6: when i go to 4000+ rpm, the info center flashes "Check Charging System" and the battery light flashes. Never happens at <4000. Any thoughts???

My 2005 XLT's check charging system light goes off over 2000 rpm. I took it to my dealer who said there's nothing wrong, that the battery is charging, etc., but I still have the light going off and that incredibly annoying dinging. Does anyone know what this is? Better yet, does anyone know how to disable the dinging?

Your voltage regulator is bad on the alt...Replace alternator...
