Check Engine Light Blinking

Hello dudes Well today my wife took my truck to work its about 12 miles and driving at 55mph and truck shut off she pulled to the side and noticed the check engine light blinking. Truck would crank but not turn on. When I got there I crank it once would not turn over. Since I just install a new MAS AIR FLOW SENSOR I disconected and re-connected the cable and it turned on. drove truck home without any problems. Wife also notice the temp guage went to the H and all other guages went in there off position. truck never passes the N in normal, except when the air is on I have a 180 themo stat........

Hey,

I own a 91 Explorer Sport as well. The best thing I can recommend is for you to check your codes. Its very easy to do and will give you a better understanding of what is wrong. I had a problem with the Check Engine (read Check Engine Madness) which lead to me changing the FPR and O2 sensor, however by reading the codes I found another sensor that is going out in the transmission.

Do you know how to read the codes?

I plan on taking the truck to the shop in the morning. as for now the check engine light is off...

Well I ended up changing the FPR and now my gas mileage is way up. Like most i read the post about the FPR but never changed it. Went from 10 to 12 to almost 18 mpg. and at $1.72 a gal it good news.....next O2 sensor.
