i can see on the dash where the CEL is, but it doesn't light up w/ all the others when i start the car. i searched but to no avail. anyone else ever have this issue?
also, i failed inspection bc of a cat. converter error code, can this be related?

Did someone pull the bulb because they couldn't fix a problem, or didn't want you to know there was a problem??

it should light up on start up.. if not, check the bulb.. and (slight chuckle) if you bought it, I am with Eneurb on what the prior owner may have done. (I LIKE this guy!)

thats almost as funny as the old fashioned black tape over the check engine light. you wont beleive how many dash panels i find with black tape covering up random warning lights

haha that's pretty funny. good idea too, but i'd be too honest to pull it off. anyways i got it fixed, just a bad bulb, and the only code that was stored i already knew about. thanks guys.

Actually, I used to work with a guy that couldn't fix anything right, but to give him some credit, rather than removing the bulb, he would actually remove the bulb and install a burnt out one.

It is funny, I have read a zillion posts about making the CEL go away, but this is the first post I have ever read about trying to make it appear.
:D
