Check engine light not working at all

I have a 96 Explorer 4.0l 4x4. The check engine light was working when I got it. One day it went out and now it don't come on at all plus I can't bring up any of my codes. Is there a fuse for it and if so where would it be located?

The light is probably just burnt out. Does it come on when you first turn the key to “on”?

No the light doesn't come on at all. And the only thing I get on my code reader is obd2 port circuit not complete
