i posted an earlier question on here about the check engine light coming on . i have tried to read the codes myself but am having a hard time disphering the info. i think it is the throttle position sensor. is there any way of checking it or cleaning it? also, i am in nova scotia canada, you guys have said pep boyss and stuff do free code readings, anyone know of any places/shops in canada that do the same?

If its the tps that is only a 20 dollar part:D

You can check the TPS by hooking up an analog voltmeter and looking at the voltage output while moving it through its range. You are looking for a smooth change of the needle on the voltmeter which matches the movement of the TPS. Jerks or dropouts to 0 volts point to a problem with the TPS.

There is no way of cleaning it that I'm aware of.
