To reiterate what I've read on this site. I have a '97 4.0L. Check engine lite came on. Auto Zone read computer and it indicated a P0401 - Emissions EGR problem. Changed the DPFE for $50...easy to do. Re booted the computer and check engine lite went out. Did not come back on. Yahoo! Thanks everyone.
Now on to another problem. When braking and just before I come to a stop, the brakes sound like I have an injured cow under the hood. Mechanics tell me it is the ABS sensor..sensor tells ABS when to kick in...Anyone have experience changing this animal? It'll cost me about $450 at the Ford garage if I have them do it.
