I'm always on the stangnet.com forum and some guy posted this in the svt section. Looks like he stuffed what I think is the 6.8 Ford Triton V10 under the hood with the Vipers 6-speed trans and some other stuff.

that's the old viper. now, the vipers have an 8.3L V10.
500hp and 525ft'lbs torque

Looking at the numbers from the engine I guess this proves torque is more important than hp. Even though the hp peak is in the 3000 rpm range, it's peak torque was below that. What do you think that V10 redlines at? Gotta be a pretty low red-line with power that low, but it still move damn fast. Someone get a ricer to look at that page:D Then they'll know why even trucks beat them, something called torque that a ricer doesn't have until 8000 rpm;)

Thats b/c he thru in a Ford Triton V10 made for the superduty pickups which need a lot of low rpm torque, I'm sure that if ford wanted to make that V10 for a sports car they could make one *****in V10 especially scince its an sohc instead of an ohv, but even the Vipers engine puts down mad power with an ohv, just wished the rest of the car was up to snuff and the new body is ugly.

the ford triton V10 kinda sucks in stock form. dodge truck V10 will flat out spank on it. but, for what ever reason, the triton V10 responds like crazy to boost. read an article a while back in a truck mag. were they put a KenneBell on it, and got some crazy hp. numbers. either way, a V10 in a 'stang is just plain awesome.

I remember reading that article too, Ford really has that Triton V10 de-tuned, that article showed them gaining something like 200 more hp just outta Supercharging and the torque was insane. One of my moms friends had an F-250 w/ the V10 and that truck hauled some ass, it would pull away from our 5.0 Mounty and our truck will run a 16.2 in the quarter. But he only could average like 8mpg in it:D And it sounded wicked with some Flows on it.

EDIT- must be an ohc thing, b/c Kennebell has a twin screw charger available for the 4.6 Mountys and Explorers, and just adding the charger on w/o any other mods all Kennebell and the tunning shops are getting 0-60 times in the 5 to 5.5 second range and quarter miles in low to mid 14's. Actually the only other upgrades to the 4.6 engine were usually the new Borla dual exhaust or Magnaflow dual exhaust that are available for 02's. Imagine having new cams, full intake and a chip burned with some headers on the 02's. Try adding just a charger to the 5.0 and getting those times without a lot of Mods.

When ever my 02' gets in I'm looking at the Kennebell charger. Whoo-Hoo:D

yea, you say that your are unimpressed, that is freakin awsome. On top of that , he put a charger on it, and that will crank it up like crazy, with that engine responding to boost like it does.

If i could do any engine swap, i'd put the 5.4 lighting set-up in the explorer, ad a pulley and a good ole 100 shot to that, it would be smokin.

Keep in mind that he has literally no more room under that hood. I don't think you could fit a s/c or turbo under there.

Keep in mind that Bugatti's V12 is only a 3.0L and has 4 turbos. This is even the "Old" EB-110S.

0-60~3.2 seconds and a top speed of 220+ mph.

if you read into the specs, the supercharger is integrated to the intake. it actually "blows" the air upward. strange design, but it fits...with a cowl. the real question is: could this be done with an x?
