It's a little early to be thinking snow in my area however I'll be hitting the slopes of Killington in a week or two. I got my Cobra's this summer so I haven't dealt with them in the winter yet. I am planning on putting my factory wheels back on the truck anyway but I'm just wondering how careful I should be with my wheels and the salt. I mean, should I do the changeover before the first snowfall/first trip to the mountain or will I be all set if I use the first small storm or two as a warning and then do it? I'm gonna miss my Cobra R's...3 months without them.

I'm sure you can run them untill the first storm then swap them out. Just be sure to clean them really well before you put them in storage.

I love not having to deal with salt!!! They use some kind of sand here it is dirty and nasty but NONCORROSIVE which we all like!

I got the Stock 3 spoke chrome overlay wheels and I have them on the truck 365 dyas of the year, and im a few miles south of you in Nashua NH.

...have they held up good? Either way I'm taking mine off because I don't think my Bridgestone HP's will do to well in deep snow...or any snow. The only other tires I have are for my stock rims (15")

they look great with the normal amount of scratches due to 4 years of New England Driving.

I agree. We don't have salt here either and I would much rather have my Explorer be dirty than have stuff corrode. And if you go wheelin in the snow than it stays pretty clean!

the only negative about that sand crap is all the windsheild chips we get. the highway department by me must get it's sand from the local mine or something becvause there are some pretty good sized stones coming out of that truck....my dad had to have a windsheild replaced in his 99 mercedes already due to 2 cracks from stones last winter and i just recieved a chip recently.

well, to be safe i would take them off.... i live in MI. and the big thing around here is the "big dubs" i.e. (no less than 20") and all my buds took theirs off already. ya you look kinda wierd with all this **** done to your car and STOCK rims , but at $5,000 for rims and tires these days they dont want to even take a chance at imperfection in them.
