Sounds like a "Jeep thing"!
Sorry-- actually I have a couple Chrysler's too.
Here is the complete code description:
"P1495 (M) Leak Detection Pump Solenoid Circuit An open or shorted condition detected in the Leak
Detection Pump (LDP) solenoid circuit"
I would say you should start with a multimeter to test the circuit for a open or shorted condition-- You'll need to either look at the wiring diagrams or check out the color of the wires into the LDP Solenoid. You could also check the coil of the solinoid for 0 resistance (which would indicate that the coil is fried).
Hopefully you do not have an intermittant short/open in the circuit b/c this will make it a lot harder to find-- you may want to do a visual inspection as well-- check the wires for cuts/chafing/ melting next to hot components. Actually, if you just do a visual of the wires to begin with, the problem might be obvious.
I had an annoying Evap leak code on my wife's Town & Country-- after changing the gas cap, replacing plastic tube clamps with metal ones, etc., I finally found a 2 inch stretch of the hose that was hidden, but so close to the exhaust that it had cracked-- well, that was a hose, not a wire, but you get the point-- do a visual of the entire length of the wires.
