I believe on Gen 3, the hitch is also part of the frame.
If you mean it's a bolted part of the frame, you are correct, for Gen 3.
But for Gen 4, the receiver is permanently welded to the frame.

Smoothmove, if you missed it I added another link to my previous post...

So it sounds like you are going to have to run 2 wires on your own from the front of the vehicle to do a complete 4 pin to 7 pin conversion because the chassis wiring harness is different for the vehicles with the class III towing package from the factory.

Hi!
I opted for a ultra light trailer. question what is better to have? A Sway bar or Equalizer bar? Thank you

You want a weight distributing hitch (WDH) with sway control. Equalizer is just a well known brand of WDH with a 4 direction sway control. thebrakeman has one so he would be best equipped to answer any Q's you may have regarding that particular brand. With no changes to your current setup the Equal-i-zer model you would want to look at looks to be 90-00-0600. But that is without knowing any specifics of the trailer and other weights that you could have.

Best bang-for-the-buck when it comes to WDH with integrated sway control is either the Equal-I-zer brand, or a Reese Dual-Cam setup. With any WDH, you pick the correct size based on your loaded TW. If you are in doubt as to which size to get, err on the high side. Never go with a kit rated lower than your loaded TW. We have about 700 lbs TW. Equalizer choices were 600 or 1000. The 1000lbs rated Equalizer has been rock solid, but never feels too stiff.
