hi there just wondering i have a kkm intake and was wondering do u think its a good idea to clean the maf sensor when cleaning the kkm filter. Or is it not necessary because kkm told me that with the 06+ ford maf sensor they can be dipped and soaked in oil and still work fine.

I don't think so, cause oil can cause rough running or cause problems. I clean the maf every time I clean the filter. Be sure to use a electrical cleaner.

Clean the maf sensor regularly with maf sensor cleaner. It's very important with an oiled filter. And instead of cleaning it when you re-oil I would clean it a couple of hundered miles later so you get a lot of the oil off that has built up after putting a newly oiled filter on.

whats a good brand of maf sensor i think it starts with an s.

Ford doesn't start with an "s".

OEM is more than adequate if not ideal.

i meant maf cleaner

I use CRC.

anybody know where to get that in Canada British Columbia.

I get mine at Auto Value in Calgary. What techieman said. This sort of product is available at any automotive store, CRC or otherwise. Crappy Tire probably has an equivalent.

okay tomorrow im going to change the kkm intake supplied air filter to a amsoil air filter. Just wondering do you recommend removing the maf sensor to clean or just spray threw the intake once the air filter is off or what. And do think its fine to just remove maf senor or remove the whole intake to clean thanks.

It dries pretty quick, leaving no residue behind... don't blindly start spraying everything, just get the MAF sensor itself.

okay and do u think i should leave the maf sensor in the intake and spray or remove it and then spray. thanks

The factory intake is thick rubber... you're not gonna eat through it with the amount of MAF cleaner needed to clean the sensor. Don't worry about it, IMO.

Some people would say get your torx bits out (security bits) & remove the MAF sensor from the housing... or pull the whole MAF assembly out from the intake tube... I generally just give it a good spraying with it still attached (disconnect the electrical connector) to the intake.

Sometimes I'll take a q-tip and GENTLY rub the sensor with it to check for any dirt, etc.

Realistically though, I'd just spray enough to clean it off and be done with it... w/out pulling the MAF sensor housing off. You're not gonna break it by spraying it with MAF cleaner.
