Does anyone know the best way to get black plastic to look black again, or just clean it up?

Not sure if it'll work on a '96, but on my '94 I mistaknely found out that the Mequier's carnauba wax that is part 3 of their 3 part wax process makes it shine like new again. Have to of course reapply it every week or so, because the rain will wash it off. But it doesnt leave a paste or anything. Just wipe it on and immediatly wipe off the excess.

I use some stuff from Meguiars.
"Gold Class Trim Detailer" It works well and last pretty good too. I've passed it on to others who take their vehicles to local car show....they liked it too.
Works on black and (in my case) tan on bumpers

Its a bit of a PITA to put on. Plan on at least two applications at first
I cut down the brissles of a 1" inch brush and use that to apply it , then wipe it down with a cloth...works for me

Its hard to get in my area (NJ) I have not seen it in any stores. I picked it up at ?Hershey or Carlisie?
My Napa guys did get it for me on a special order.
$3 something a bottle?
upc 70382 10108 if you're interested

We ended up ordering a case for all the guys that wanted it and for each to keep an extra around

I buy this "Black Jack" tire dressing once in a while. It`s always at gas stations. It`s a sponge soaked in tire dressing in a package.

I found that rubbing it on all my black trim makes it look new again. It wears off eventually, but most other stuff does. This way, ya do your tires and trim at the same time. I always buy two sponges, one for each side.

The eagle one tire gel also works on black trim. It will wear off but lasts longer than anything else I tried. I never tried putting wax on any of the black trim.

I do the same as Skugga. Usually lasts a good 3 weeks.

i was gonna say what everyone esle here already said. i used to try all different products on my 91 sport cuz the plastic was faded, but all that stuff only lasts a short period.

Have you all tried the Mother's Back-To-Black? That's what I use... it covers up left over wax and it lasts through a few rains. It's perfect for me. Got it at Autozone for about $4.

Ry.

Black spray paint...Only thing is gonna keep it looking good for more than a week or two.
Get a lot of masking tape and the Sunday paper and a couple of coats of paint will keep it looking good for a year or two or three.
