When you say rear of the passenger side...are you saying somewhere in the wheel area? Is it a metallic type sound? Does the sound keep pace with the vehicle...speed up/down?

Not sure if this could be it but I had an issue with my passenger side rear caliper clip that somehow worked its way loose and was hitting something in the wheel. Made an obnoxious click/clack sound but it was a metallic type sound that you knew had to be a brake issue of some sorts.

If your "click-clack" is more pronounced at low speeds (parking lots, stop signs, etc.), then I would bet a large sum that it is your parking brake shoes. They are a common problem -- the friction material works loose from the metal shoes and bits are trapped inside/behind the brake rotor. You won't be able to see anything wrong unless you remove the rotor...

There are ton's of posts here in the forum about how to diagnose and repair if this is what it turns out to be...

If you have rear AC, it might be your rear blend door actuator. Change the temp so it isnt on cold or hot, and if it stops thats your problem. Not too hard to fix, just alot of panels need to come off. Also dont buy a cheap chinese one, i got one and it died again after like 6 weeks.

On my '02 XLT, I had to replace the rear blend door actuator referenced in the previous post. At least for me, it was behind the trim panel on the driver's side, over the rear wheel well. If your "click clack" is from the passenger side, I would bet against the blend door module. (Although those are well known to click and clack, as "43" mentioned)...
