I have noticed more and more a "clunk" in the front suspension. I have a 93 XLT 2WD. I just replaced the ball joints as it was making a "popping" sound when I would come to a stop. Now I have the "clunk" when I go over bumps. It is realy bad when I go over wash board dirt roads. I have read some posts about the radius arm. I have no idea what that is or were it is. If this is the case is it a costly fix? And how hard is it to replace?

Thanks,
Mike

I have a similar issue to this. My X too is a 2wd. I dont hear popping when I stop though. Mostly when I back out of a parking spot and when I turn the stearing, and apply gas to drive away. When the weight comes off the front when starting to move I get a pop. This has never happend when my wheels are straight. Only when Im turning. I too have had lower ball joints and upper control arms replaced.

Mine was doing the same thing intill i changed out the radius arm bushings, they are about 30 dollars and take about 3 hours to do.Or take it to a front end shop it usally costs about 60 a side to get fixed, and makes a heck of a difference.Later Brad in Iowa
