After using 4x4 high I'm getting a clunking sound from front during acceleration. It sounds as if something is moving in the front driveline that shouldn't be when not in 4x4. Anyone experience any issues like this?

does it do it over bumps?

It does anytime your accelerating if you take your foot off of the gas it stops. Sounds as if something is spinning and banging in the front axle area, but only under acceleration.

Mechanic says its the driveshaft where it meets the differential. He's looking for kit for the repair. He says i'll need a driveshaft if he cant find the kit.

You mean that it is the u joint?

if its the u joint thats very cheap and easy to fix. like under $15 for a good part. and really can be done by most people in the driveway
