I used a 3/4 brass compression ring.
The type used for copper pipe.
It was a little work but not bad since I had few choices.
You have to thin it down a little. I used a lathe but a drill press or electric drill will work. (as in slam it on a wooden dowel)
Grind it or file it a little shorter and cut a slit in it. Slide it over the disconnect fiiting in place of the plastic....use the special tool and bingo!
It works better that the plastic and got me out of my jam.
