I saw a 2nd generation explorer yesterday with a cobra emblem. Is anyone familiar with these? How many did they make, what years...

Never heard of this.

Perhaps someone was playing with emblems?

Perhaps they were a professional "Snake Charmer"?

could have been fake, but it was not tricked up and looked stock.

Like I said never heard of one but I'm no expert.

Ford never made a SVT Cobra Explorer, it's just like the Mustang guys always swapping emblems.

My buddy has the Lincoln version of a 3rd gen EX with a 32V motor so he put the snakes on the fenders....to each his own.

fake cell phones

When cell phones first came out they were very expensive. Some people purchased fake cell phones and pretended to talk on them to impress others. I'm not aware of any limited production Cobra powered 2nd Gen Explorers. It could be a valid custom installation or just a bogus decal.

That would be a really slick project car to stick a Roush 347 SR in an Explorer.

You would scare the living daylights out of some folks....

Thanks for your responses. Thankfully they did not make them, otherwise I could see myself chasing all over to find and buy one.

Get a Ramjet hood ornament and stick it on, that'll get 'em talking.

Very slick, but probably forget about using a slick 5-speed OD like 5R55S! imp

True.

Unless you like "Transmission Hand Grenades".

4R70 should work though.
