code help #401 EGR
my check engine light has been coming on and off for a few days,so i went to autozone to get scanned ,they do it for free,,it came back with code 401 EGR ,,The parts man said it could be the valve or a egr sensor ,is there a test to find out which is bad,,
i have a 96 xlt 4x4 v6 ,,also when i start the truck the rpms go up to 2500 for a few seconds then go to normal ,,this happens when the engine is cold or warm,,,thanks for your help in advance,,i am new to the board
