Does anyone run some sort of rubber pad on top of their coil springs? Ever since I installed my SL 5.5 I've been getting a lot of noise up front from what I think is the top of the spring rubbing against it's perch.

Any sort of a spring perch or spacer would mount under the coil, not on top.

I would check the sway bar bushings and bolts and make sure they are tight, they can cause all sorts of noise. The spring should be fine if it is mounted properly.

Maybe put the truck up on jack stands using the frame and inspect the entire front TTB setup for anything thats loose.....

If your coils are coming seperated from their mount when the front end is at full droop then you need whats called a "J" hook on each side to keep it in place.....

I was thinking of just a rubber pad for the top, my 87 mustang had them. But if nobody else is running them my problem must be elsewhere. I'm not running a front sway bar at the moment so it couldn't be that. I have the J hooks but I didn't install them tight against the spring. I thought they would be okay with a little slack. Maybe I'll remount those. I've also ordered some pivot bushings. Maybe all that will quite it down.
