Hey everyone, I've had my explorer outside all winter untill a week ago when i got back home (Alaska) from hawaii. The truck has sat outside below freezing temps for several months and it started right up first crank!! But after a warm day or two ice started melting a little and then it went below zero for a couple days and all the sudden if wouldnt start. I just wanted to share what happened in case someone ever has the same problem. ....
I'd turn the key and all I'd get was a huge click click sound. The starter wasn't even turning, and after lots of electrical trouble shooting, I decided to just make up my own test. I took a hair dryer out to the drive way and blew hot air over the starter relay for about 5minutes, and wholla!! Started on the first try! SO for those of you in the colder areas like me, remember that if your truck ever does the same thing! By the way anyone in Alaska, I'm deciding to sell my truck agian, maybe this time I won't change my mind! Contact me if you are interested
