I bought the MAF adapter off ebay for the 93 ex, and went into autozone to see if they had any filters I could use for it (was looking at K&N filters) and they didnt have any. They told me they could order it if i got the diameter of the opening and the size of the filter i needed. I told them it was a 3.5 inch opening and that i had a roughly 6x6 opening for it, but they couldnt find any that would fit on the adapter for some reason.
So my question is, what is the part number of the filter you guys are using, I really wanna get this done soon as the Fram I put in there last time I did my air filter needs to be changed soon.

I usually just use the cheaper cone filters in the "performance" parts section. They usually run about $25 or so. Never had a problem with them and they work just as well. They are cheap enough that if I damaged one I wasn't upset about having to replace it.

should of bought the whole set-up at KKM

Kurtz Kustomz Motorsports

$89.95 a set

BTW - they do sell filters too... see if theirs would fit your adapter.

The reason I didnt buy the kit is because after reading numerous posts it was apparent that it was cheaper to buy the filter + adapter, only problem is getting the filter.

There used to be adapters that came with the filter on EBay. If not, did you check K&N website?

Does the KKM kit really make a difference? I would think it would be picking up hotter air from the engine compartment. I am willing to purchase it if i know for sure that it will make a noticeable improvement.

When standing still, yes the hot air is present. However, at any speed over about 30 MPH, the IAT is only a degree or three over outside ambient temperature.

Try it your self with a scanner.

agreed. There is so large a volume if air movement inside the engine bay while cruising the heat is negligable.

You will get some horse power and throttle response increases. But the real gain is the sound!

You truck will sound like a beast at open throttle!

Also consider the throttle bar removal mod it will help more of that extra air provided by the new filter get into the engine.

Just search with the google bar at the top of the page and you should find it. Unless anyone can give you a link to the page.

Thanks for the information, anything to get a little more MPG is a good thing right now.

I have read that Thread, it is great, and i am looking into some of the mods you have done.

Might also consider the 5.0 maf upgrade.
