control trac to regular 4wd

ive got a 97xlt with control trac and i was wondering if i swith my transfercase with a regular 4wd will that give me the 2wd im lookin for without the hasle of the "brown wire mod" and if you read this thread tonight nov 2 shoot me an IM at italliangod15@aol.com otherwise just answer my thread with whatever help you can give me

You can swap a BW1354 or 1350 into your truck to have 2wd, 4wd and 4Low, but you will have to cut a hole in your floor for the shifter as it will not fit with the electric shift motor. You will also need to swap in a 2wd PCM to get rid of the blinking 4wd lights.
