So I just bought a new stereo that is backlit in blue and It really clashes with the stock green instrument lights. I plan on buying a blue backlit gauge cover but If i do I'm going to need to change all the lights on the dash to blue.

I read a few posts on this and they seem to be very old. I am curious if anyone has done this. If anyone has please tell me how, what yout had to buy and post pictures too.

I have a 94 XLT

Thanks, Dave

Indentical situation (blue deck, green lights, 94 XLT) and am also interested in this. Is this best way to just rip the covering off behind the gauges and go buy all blue bulbs (#194?)?

The instrument lights don't use green bulbs, there is green on the actual switch/cluster. So if you used all blue bulbs it wouldn't make that much of a difference, maybe a funky blue/green color, who knows.

There must be a way to remove the green coating/plastic.

Could I just rip them out and replace them with small pieces of blue celophane or plasitc? Then I wouldnt even need to buy new bulbs

Any other ideas?

I did this a very long time ago. Stock gauge cover with blue #194 lights. Kinda blue but more green then blue.

I bought the white face gauge thing and did it again. VERY blue. I don't have a night pic though.

heres my blue ones

I got them off ebay. If you get them, make sure you get a trim ring.

Were they hard to put in?

mine glow blue or green at night, i leave them set on blue...sorry no night pics avail.
