Alright...after all the help and information i've gathered from this board...this is what i think i am going to do to the Explorer

1. 31"X10.50"15 mud tires(no lift)
2. Flowmaster 50 series Exhaust
3. Black headlight covers
4. Westin Safari Bar(or something similar)

Future mods:
1. Charcoal Fender flares
2. K&N air filter
3. Chrome bezel and white face guages(maybe)
4. New sub to replace the JBL one

Mods i already have:
1. Bug guard
2. Tail light guards

all sounds good to me, but if i was going to spend the money on some mud tires i would want a little lift to make it stand out from all the grocery getters. war-153 shackles are only about 60$ or you could even get the cheep 15$ ones from autozone. crank on the tbats to match it in the front + an allinment and your truck will really stand out. just my .02 though

I would say don't bother getting headlight covers, most people think they're a waste and sometimes they are also illegal. The Westin Bull bar with the skid plate and thicker bars I like better than the Safari bar. I like the idea of Flowmasters. Instead of K&N get a KKM for $90. Tail light guards only if you get the bull bar. Flares will look nice. All sounds pretty good to me except for the few changes I made. Hope everything works out.

Dont buy mud tires because they look cool, you mine as well throw $$$ away.........You can get a good aggressive looking tire that will wear well on the road.......most mud tires will last you about 15K miles under normal street driving.

Other then that it all sounds cool to me.......

ahh! that's what the one is called lol a bull bar...haha thanks very much for that info...yeh i'd rather get that

410fortune...all mud tires will wear that bad? like even BFG mud terrains, and similar ones to that??

about the torsion twist...im not sure about that becuase for one i dont kno anyone around here who would kno what the hell to do with it, and i dont really want to take the risk of having things wear out quicker...eventually i would want to do it i think, but im not sure...

Yes even the BFG mudds and the Goodyear MTR and the Yokohama Geolander, all have soft compounds and will wear out MUCH faster then a A/T or street tire.

Although the Goodyears and the BFGoodies will outwear most mud tires, a mud tire is a mud tire. the reason they work so good off road is because they are a softer compound, which means quicker wear on the street.

The BFG KO seems to get good reviews here and last a good long time, that was not my experience with them, but I am only one user.

If it says MUD on the side of the tire it will last you 1.5-2 years tops, some dont even make it one year depending on how you drive, how often you rotate and all that other junk.

I choose to get the cheaper mud tires while still getting a good tire, Courser and Remington are good tires, ansd since they are not name brand they are MUCH cheaper.........

Everything sounds alright for the exception of the safari bar, I think they kill your approach angle and if your gonna any type of off-roading your gonna mash that little piece of metal up.

With the TT, it is a simple thing to do by yourself and if you dont go extreme with it you wont have to worry about things wearing out faster.

Go with a BFG A/T!

This will give you an agressive look and long tire ware. Most BFG A/T will last 40-50k and I have seen some go longer.

Besides that there tuffer then you know what!:D

I have headlight covers and I never use them. They were on for 4 weeks them I threw them intop the garage somewhere. They look nice, but at night and during the rain they will kill your headlights output. Plus it is a pain in the ass to keep takinging them off then putting them back on every other day (cause they look like crap if they are dirty).

Yeah, I don't know if one person on this board still has those flimsy headlight covers on anymore... they just aren't worth it.

alright, no light covers...for 45 dollars thats not worth it lol ehh i think im gonna get mud tires still, but cheap ones from wal-mart...they look sweet lol, and i dunno about a bull bar, me and my friend might fabricate our own concoction for the front...we just built a skid plate, ill post some pics somewhere soon

covers are ugly, a better idea is clear corners.. about the same price too

The MTRs have a pretty good reputation acutally, I have seen on some other boards where people are getting 40-45k out of them. They look awesome also.

just make clear corner's..it's free and look's good
