Ok So I was changing my radio bezel, because I don't need all of the other stuff on it now. Don't need the 4wd switch, rear window wiper and stuff. Any way, so I desided to paint it with bedliner stuff, and I guess I didn't have in clean enough or something, becaude it developed all the cranks and fishers of sorts. So I thought..instead of redoing it...what if I highlited it? Like electricity or something? Any way.. what do you think?

Keep it, or start over and just spray it black?

weird....

kinda cool though :)

if you decide not to go with it I have one for sale...

I do kinda like it tho...

It's a cool idea, but to me in the first pic, it looks like the black paint is just cracking, until you get close to it like the 2nd and 3rd pic.. What is that stuff you used for the "electricity"?

Well it was bubbling like that so I just used a metalic silver sharpie:D

U might be on to something here a Stic-o original artwork bezel :D

Different. If you don't get all the rubberized coating off it will do that. Happened to me waay to many times.

And shaved bezels are the ****!

I thought about going over the silver and making it red instead....

The rear defroster is all I wanted to keep, but very rarely use it, so it's hanging out in the glove box :D

I am planing basically the same way in my 96 Limited. Shaving it and doing marbling on it. I will move the switches used into the ashtray.

I know this is an old thread but was wondering how to take the rubber coating off of a radio bezel. Is it possible to take it off? Mine is peeling off but the black plastic underneath is good. It's a 96 2WD Exp.

** Please ignore this post. I should've searched first :-) **

I have a 1999 Mercury Mountaineer, it's the loaded model.

I have this type of stereo Bezel: http://www.ehow.com/video_2327795_ford-explorer-mercury-mountaineer-removing.html

I am trying to figure out how to custom mount a DNX9980HD into that hole using the sleeve that came with the stereo.

I had to drumel out a portion of the top and bottom to fit the 6.95" stereo. No use using a double din kit, or the sleeve for the stereo. I cut out enough to slide the stereo through and used a couple of the brackets from one of the kits I purchased. to screw the stereo semi tight and make sure it wasn't able to slide out the front. Pretty much any thief that wanted to unscrew the 2 bolts holding the front bezel to the dash could easily just take the stereo out with a few screws. I want something a little more custom, nice looking, and safe. Can you buy custom bezels(bessels) for vehicles like mine that were not meant to install a double din larger than the factory model? Or does anyone have any mod ideas I could consider. I will upload some pics when I get a chance tomorrow. I know this thread is really old, but there isn't a lot of newer threads that cover this.
