Coolant Options...Takes on Biodegradable Antifreeze?

I am getting ready to do a coolant flush. Any takes on the Biodegradable Antifreeze. Either Sierra or Amsoil...

Let me know what you think, real world experience.

Thanks!

I can't believe this. There is more interest on how to get acne off your face. LOL Now cosmotology, what next? LOL

try oil of Olay, it works wonders, did for me!

I found I had really dry skin with other soaps, but the oil of olay kills the acme and leaves my face nice and soft.

OH wait! wrong thread!

I use the Sierra stuff, it works great and wont kill bambi if it spills..............

antifreeze

I have heard that the biodegradeable antifreeze has a shorter service life than the normal stuff. Otherwise, I think it is supposed to be just as good as regular.

ive got Sierra in mine, and i guess it works. hard to really rate the performance of an anti-freeze. lol

it doesnt "last" as long as regular, but i dont consider coolant flushing a pain in the @ss, so i dont mind.

Nice. Back to automobiles...

So Fords can use this with no problems.

Also I was reading somewhere that it may be acceptable in some areas to flush old antifreeze down the toilet. I was shocked but if it is safe could I do that?

I guess I will get Sierra or Amsoil and do my part.

Thanks fellas!

410, I'll have to try the Oil of Olay...;)

Well if you water down antifreeze enough it is no longer posinous to animals so I can see why its okay to pour it down the drain, maybe not great in a perfect world but it cant be as harmful as draino. What they want you to avoid is leaving puddles on the ground for those poor little birdys to drink up. Regardless in this day and age modern chemistry allows them to make harmless coolant, so I use it. I would only use it in cars that can use "standard coolant" I dont know about that new orange stuff they put in Hondas or whatever....unless it says okay on the bottle.........

I switched over last time I flushed my system, which I do at least once a year, but heck when you change parts as often as I do you dont have to schedule a coolant flush because I end up doing it 3 times a years anyways.......
