Hey all, just looking for a couple of opinions from more experienced folk. We added a can of R1394 coolant to a 94 explorer in hopes of finding where a leak was hiding.

Well after checking everywhere it was accidentally noticed that the middle of the compressor had a line of dye right around the outside of it.

Now I'm not sure but is it possible that there is an o-ring or something that is just worn out? Or should I be looking for an entirely new compressor?

Thanks for any shared thoughts.

Great forum, wish I'd found it sooner!

W/o actually seeing.....I'd say, time for a new compressor (w/ clutch). It has been said.......that the tools to take the clutch and compressor apart are in most cases cost prohibitive.......unless, you want to go into business.

Aloha, Mark

Replace the compressor.

Mark,

Thanks, I figured as much. Also thanks for some of your other posts you've made in the past. (You too Glacier)
Some of them have been a lot of help.

Is it me or do parts decide to fail at the same time?
